Acetylacetonate complexes of platinum group metals organic are a novel type of organometallic compounds. With the profiles of air-stablilty, readily sublimation, low-decomposition temperature, and great solublility in organic solvents, they are used for several purposes: (1) as precursors for preparing the platinum group thin film material by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique; (2) as precursors for preparing support catalysts and nanomaterials; (3) as homogeneous catalysts for organic synthesis.
